He is also Chairman of the Egyptian Tourism Federation and Vice Chairman of NEHRA. He is formerly Chairman of Eurornic, Travel Agents Association, Tourism Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt, International Alumni Committee, American University in Cairo.

He has received the following awards: IMEX Academy Award 2005, Twentieth Century Achievement Award, Man Of the Year 1997, World Peace Through Tourism 1997, Personnalite de l’ annee – Distinction Internationale – Tourism 1993.
